Hey guys, since there are supposed to be these new green jobs out there, I am wondering if, solar and wind power are the green jobs that there talking about for the electronic field? ( not sure if that makes sense though to anyone).
I know I have read about the stimulus plan helping to create alot of these jobs but at that time it was so new that I did not think about it till now.
I am wondering if any of you are in a job/career that is considered a green job or a green collar job? If so, what kind of degree did you have to have or did have already?

Also, I am wondering if anyone knows some of the actual names to some of these positions/jobs. I am going to do some researching tonight on this but I thought to post this now, so maybe when I do the research I can have some leads by that time.

Maybe I am better off becoming a border agent lol...

I think the CO2 Warming thing cooled things down a little, lately (past month). We should back on a warming trend in a few more months, at which time, I'm sure there will be some new break-through findings to confirm that we will be experiencing a warming trend again, at least for several months. If Al Gore works fast, he might get something to pass, before the end of the summer...

Solar panel installer huh? What happens once everything has a solar panel? Do those things break or last long? I am thinking they last a very long time, I saw the other day 2 guys installing a panel and one guy was walking all on top of it. He was not a little thing either, he was a big guy, looked 200-225 lbs. Seems they will last a long time though... Wow here i thought there was this whole new market for green jobs does not seem like the hype i was hearing lol

More like 1 job added, 2 lost, IMHO. "Green Jobs" is now encompassing a range of things well outside our typical understanding of "green"; such as giving convicts preference for recycling jobs and that sort of thing. It is more a social movement than anything else. Again, just my 2 cents...don't expect to see a bunch of ads requiring our services....

I really was not thinking to much with our services but with the solar and wind power i was thinking that was more along our lines of service. Just wondering if that is the way to go since its kinda new or seems to become a big thing.

The contractors are getting the solar jobs, just another thing for
sub's- to do. No new jobs (the hot roofers are also installing them)
remember they can't leak. With the large, tall and gated communities
even a large experienced contractor can't afford the bond. You see
a lot of trucks and men working, the man with the bond is making the
money. The contractor don't get that final check until the punch out
list is finished. Sometimes that cost $20 to $30 thousand dollars to send
crews back, pay others specialist for mess ups that need sign offs. No fun
out there on big jobs, done on the backs of the workers pay.
