    Hello all.
i'm trying to build a personal tracker using GPS.
is it possible to connect a GPS module to a mobile phone and use the phone for sending the location (to another phone- as sms)?
    thanks.

Some older phones, like siemens IIRC, support commands over a serial line, which should allow you to send messages etc. If you can´t get hands on one that can do it, you will probably have to buy a GSM chip, or some dedicated device meant to do this.

    Buy an Android phone.

Learn Java or whatever language runs on Android.

Make an App, that takes data from the phones GPS, and send it as an SMS.

Or just buy a GPS tracker from any gadget shop?
