    Ok thanks for snapping my brain back into place... been staring at circuit problems the last 5 days or so

    How about my follow-up question about nodal analysis?

    If R's are replaced with impedances you could use nodal analysis - or the method you've already outlined is equally valid. In either method the complex algebra is more challenging than for the case of simple resistive elements.
