I like to know if any of you know of a cheap, moderate priced function generator.
All I need is sine and square from 0~30MHz.
Clean sine wave is important. Low distortion too.
    Variable amplitude is a plus.
    Like to buy one.
Need pointers or what to buy from those who use them

    Wow ! bertus
That thing is way out of budget. But it is quite good I must say.

Someone I know likes it, but it never is used above 1 MHz, so no feel for high freq sine distortion.

I know someone who uses the Rigol unit, and he likes it. However, you mentioned that 30 MHz and a clean sinewave were important. He never uses his unit above 1 MHz so he has no feel for how clean or pure the high frequency sinewave output is.

What about the Audio range distortion in the sine wave. Is it good ?
