full wave rectifier

    Hi,

    from so many days am not clear at full wave bridge rectifier calculation.
    consider i have used 8-0-8 step up trnasformer and bridge rectifeir is designed.
    what will be the voltage at transformer secondery and volatge at bridge rectifier output.
    requesting you to help me with clear gud example of full wave bridge rectifier with calculations.

    AC 8-0-8 → Full wave rectifier → Cap filter → Vout
    Vout = 8Vac x 1.414 - (0.7V*2) = 11.3Vdc - 1.4Vdc =9.9Vdc

    Depends on which kind of full wave rectifier you are talking about. If you use one diode from each of the ends and use the center tap as ground, you will get 8 * 1.414 -0.7 = 10.6V.

    If you place a full wave bridge across the two ends, leaving the center tap unused, you get 16 * 1.414 = 2 * 0.7 = 21.2V

    Oh, I forgot the 8V-0-8V no need to use the full bridge, so only need to reducing 0.7V, thanks.
