Hi all,
I have a FTDI breakout board. I tried to input data to a Mac 100 cnc controller without any luck. I noticed that the output of the FTDI doesn't output rs232 signals. I was wondering if I could bypass the Max232 on the controller and wire right to the microprocessor which is a 8032. will I have to use gates to reverse the signals like the Max does?
TY in advance

If not interfacing to RS-232, what are you using the FTDI chip for? Please post your circuit. Thank you.

BTW: Which FTDI chip?
(The FTDI chips that I am familiar with are RS-232 to TTL (CMOS) converters.
