I saw a guy on tv who recorded the resonating frequency of a glass cup and then played the same frequency to break it .
can someone enlighten me on how this is done ? The recording and the emiiting of the frequency .
I have a good amount of basic knowledge and tools...:)
This is just very interesting to me.
Thanks in advance

There was a commercial on TV many years ago featuring Aretha Franklin breaking a glass singing ... then the glass was broken again from the playback. The tape was Memorex.

It might have been a challenge for an old cassette tape recorder, but no problem for digital equipment.

One suspects that playing a tone that destroys every empty glass in a bar may not be seen as a real yuck by the owner.

cool link thanks cvmichael.
I still have to convince my brother to let me try it out , he seemed a bit skeptic about it and is worrying about his copmuter screens and his windows.
