I am working on a problem for school and am having trouble understanding it. It asks for two things the frequency deviation and max frequency deviation. We are given that kf = 30Hz/V and I am pretty sure that the max frequency deviation is the max message signal times kf which would be 240Hz since this is an FM signal. I am a little confused about just frequency deviation and the difference between the two. Any help would be appreciated or just some clarification.

 

Start by tracking the units.

1. 2 is dimensionless
2. pi is dimensionless
3. kf is Hz./Volt or (1 / (Volt⋅sec))
4. the integral is Volt⋅sec
