Football with inlaid LEDs project

    I would like to create a football with LEDs that change color when they are caught by someone who is wearing a pair of special gloves i will create. does anyone have any idea how to get the LEDs to change color when they are caught by someone wearing said gloves?

    Sure. Use RedGreenBlue LEDs like these or different colored discrete ones. Lots of outfits sell RGBs on big reels that you cut to fit.

    To change color when its caught by specific hands however requires some way to identify the hands/gloves (and a way to drive the LEDs to make the color). Maybe RFID or the gloves could emit a unique signal using infrared LEDs that the ball would pick up and change its color accordingly.

    Not trivial but not impossible either. Not the least of the challenges is creating the smarts and putting it on/in the ball so that it stays balanced while spinning..

    There is lots of information here at AAC about LED driving in colors/flashing etc. RFID too, I think..
