K so i just recently bought a new FM transmitter for my ipod and have found it to be less than satisfactory. I wanted to open it up to see if i could add my own antenna onto it but i do not have a lot of experience with this and dont know what to look for. i have some pictures of the boards inside of my transmitter but could someone help?

For one thing, you didn't give us the model number and manufacturer of the device. By design, typical transmitters like these can only transmit a few feet without running into FCC issues. Plus, we are not allowed to show you how to modify commercial off the shelf transmitters to operate illegally. Sorry.

Look at the part number of the transmitter IC then look for its datasheet or a project called The Micromitter on the web.
They will probably show an attenuator at its antenna output.
