Is there a Fluxgate compass in Kit form?

It's an idea I came up with while outfitting my 14' Jon-boat for fishing at night.
A long time ago I was an Electronic Tech, occasionally, in my job.
I retired in 93 though.

I have a Binnacle compass. The Fluxgate thing was just a wild hair.

I need a digital clock too.

 

Get yourself an arduino with a GPS shield.....

Should fulfill both criteria.

I predict that the accuracy of the flux gate sensor will not be anywhere near as good as a standard boat compass...

I was kind of suspecting that sort of an answer.
My hand held GPS is a very good Compass.
And I have the Binnacle.
Nuff said!

 

I concur, I've on more than one occasion, been happily sailing when the GPS puts my position on terra firma......
