Flow rate with respect to opening

    hello,

    I'm looking for the flow rate equation for the following situation. The stopper rod covers the hole, but when opening has an exponential flow rate. I dont have any values as of now but when I do get them I would like to be able to just plug them into the equation and get results. If there is anyone who could help me it will be great. The equation for a flow rate through a pipe is Q=VA
    Q=flow rate
    V=fluid velocity
    A=cross-sectional area
    The hole that the stopper rod covers leads to a pipe. The stopper rod will not raise above 85 mm. Thanks for the help.

    This site helped a little but you were limited to the amount of time on it. So there was little progress made.
