Sure as a float charger if both batteries are in about the same condition.

    Thanks, that's what I thought.

One 6 V, is brand new. The other also has a full charge.

I just bought one of those at Harbor Freight. Paid $4.99 with a coupon. Seems like a bargain.

Take it apart, and trace out the schematic. I have one of those from the early 2000s and it uses a LM7805. The early ones put out too low a voltage, so I had to change a resistor. I am curious what the newer ones use...

Hook it to an isolated lead-acid battery for a few days, and then measure the battery terminal voltage with a known-accurate DVM. I would like to know what the final float voltage settles to.

What is the float being charged with? A felony or a misdemeanor? :D
