Fixed V drop across op amp rails?

    Hey all,

I have four single supply op amps (OPA364 by TI, I've attached the data sheet). When I apply the supply voltage across the rails (5.5V) I only get a drop of 1.2V across them. I've tried a couple of other op amp models and they don't do this (they have the expected 5.5V drop). This happens for all four op amps. Does anyone know what's going on?

Which package are you using and how are you connecting them up? What other amplifiers have you used, are they the same pinout?

    The datasheet does say:

Supply voltages higher than 5.5V (absolute maximum) may cause permanent damage to the amplifier.

so hopefully they are not damaged by higher voltages.

If you have any more, try a lower supply voltage. Running them at their absolute maximum is probably not a good idea.
