    Hi,

Looking to measure engine RPM, by wrapping a sensor wire round the outside of the HT lead, needs to measure 0-20,000rpm

Does anyone have a circuit for this, i guess it will need some sort of filtering or amplifying, or can point me in the right direction, not sure if i should be using a PIC to measure it or a F-V, LM2917 type of thing (which variant?!) or something else, (555) i am measuring it with a seperate PIC, so could have an output of 0-5v for 0-20,000rpm perhaps...

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks
