I want to create a security system to my home. It should be not only for detecting a thief, but also to record a photo of him as well. It is not possible to put computers outdoor where the thieves stay for a long time.

Is there a way to plug a USB webcam to an embedded microprocessor circuit? How to store the large amount of pictures? (Snapshot or short time video)

Can anyone send a suitable reference to read and understand? That will be a great help. I'm not saying my proposal is possible. But, there should be ways to store binary data in microprocessors. There should be ways to deal with USB devices and microprocessors. So, it may be possible to achieve this by integrating these two.

    Thanks in advance,
