Embedded system ethernet switch

I have very limited space and power with which to connect 4 ethernet devices. A commercial off the shelf switch (even a tiny oem one from sixnet) will not fit. The total data rate is about .1mbit/sec. Does anyone have a recommendation on how I can route these signals? An active hub would be ideal, but I cannot find an IC for that. A full switch might work as well, but I am trying to do this as simply as possible, and installing an embedded version of Linux on a processor with an SRAM interface to a 10baseT transceiver does not seem "simple". A final idea I thought about was a small fpga like a spartan 3. This would let me perform the function of an active hub fairly simply, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about this method online.
