Hi, I need to design and build an elevator as a project. Thing is i am having trouble with the circuit.
The building is 1 ground floor and 3 additional floors. I am only concerned in having the elevator go to each floor at a push of a button and stay at each floor for a certain time before going to a next floor.
So please can anyone help me out with this circuit.

Is this a microcontroller project or PLC or what?
Like n1ist said this comes up ALL the time (in fact there are 650 or so threads about elevator projects)

There is no "easy" button. Have you tried to ask your teacher for help.
    How far have you gotten?
Do you have the controls working and just need motor selection or what?

Honestly i am a beginner to this electric stuff.
Teacher has refused to help saying 'it is a project'
well i got 6 months to finish so starting with the circuit and how it is going to work.
I planned on using a motor to lift and lower the elevator but then I read that the motor is not the most ideal option

Is this a practical experiment as well as theoretical? If so other things come into play, means of motor control, all neccessary logic, safety aspects etc all have to be considered.
The overall project description is a little too vague.
    Max.
