I'm not sure how many users here are also members of Electro Tech online, apparently the forum has been hacked, clicking on the new post link will redirect to a banner screen to the script kiddies that did it.

Just wanted to warn anyone that might be on or know someone that is and hasn't already found this out yet. So e-mails are obviously compromised and passwords may be as well.

Thank you for the timely warning.

The hack is a threat to all of us besides a major event for your board. Best of luck undoing the damage.

Hopefully one day the law will take this as serious as a standard break in and theft.

Yeah, problem with that is the group that did it is from another country, and in some countries there may not even be laws to prevent them from hacking sites outside their own countries. I've been looking into it a little more, apparently the group that did it has hit quiet a few websites recently, probably some specific vulnerability they were able to exploit, perhaps the ISPs fault itself.

The forum is back up now, doesn't look like there was any damage done, typically there isn't it's just an ego game for them.

Yah whats really sad is when your browser gets hijacked or site gets hacked and you find out companies like Netflix, Blockbuster, Ford, etc... are paying them for clicks.

It'll be interesting to see how the Internet matures over the net ten or twenty years.
