hi

I have a problem with an electronics amplifiers equation. The equation is IB(base current ) = IL(peak load current)/(1+β)

what does 1+β means?

pls help and thanks

beta is a parameter for your amplifier, which is usually a BJT or MOSFET. When you operate a BJT in active forward region, the current at the collector is (1+beta)* the base current.

I beg to differ.

β is current gain parameter normally applied to BJT's.

More importantly ...

the collector current is β*Ib

and

the emitter current is (1+β)*Ib
