Is there an electronic component that can behave like normally closed switch?

An NPN transistor connected to ground. When current runs through the base, all circuit current goes to the ground instead of wherever else it will go. I can sketch a circuit if you'd like! Also, for a more user friendly idea, a digital Inverter. When input is 1 output is 0 and vice versa.

 

Based on no information about the amount of voltage, current, or impedance, a jfet is normally on until you turn it off with the proper bias.

 

...or a depletion-mode MOSFET, just don't accidentally enhance it...
