    I need to know the difference between 3 phase and single phase?In our home 3 phase is coming but all electrical equipments are working in single phase only,how????

    The power generated by utilities is three phase, it is then distributed to the public and industry. Residential customers almost always get single phase service as there aren't many consumer grade appliances wired for three phase. Read this...

    Three phase is simply a generator that has three separate sets of windings set 120 degrees apart. This appears as three LARGE wires coming out of the plant. Each carrying a single phase.
