I am responsible for designing an electrical cabinet for an automation controller. I am looking for a textbook resource that contains the guidelines and best practices. Here is a link to a picture of the type of cabinet I am talking about:

My cabinet will be fairly small, about the size of a medicine cabinet. Two rows of din rail and some conduit. Not a huge undertaking, but I want to make sure I do it properly. The design is for internal use, so I don't need to go too heavily into electrical codes like NEC and follow them to the letter.

One of your best bets first is to obtain a copy of NFPA79 'Electrical Standards for Electrical Machinery'.
This not only gives the code as pertaining to NEC, conductor amperage, colour code etc, but also has layout diagrams.
Also. Telemecanique wiring diagrams
Also covers the all important. Schematic Diagram development for the system.
Max.
Thank you Max,
That is a great document. It consolidates several bulletins I reference often and also its not 200 page document of every product of similar function.
