See if you can find a totaled nissan leaf to autopsy the inverter and motor from, to get an idea on how its done.

Though expect this thread to be closed shortly due to the TOS violation "Automotive Modifications"

just remember, the leaf is automotive, so it dosnt have to conform to normal electrical safety standards. such as fuses large enough to let the wireing burn before blowing.

That's unlikely. I'm sure that Nissan doesn't want the Leaf to start a fire if a circuit gets overloaded, so I'm certain all circuits are well protected for that.

you mean like ford did swhen they had all those fires because a switch grounded? an input to the computer with enough current it could burn the wire, without fusing? the NEC does not cover automotive wireing.
