I've been researching building my own benchtop power supply, dual voltage, variable, high current. I was looking at switching supplies and was wondering if anyone had some incite or suggestions. Most switching supplies I see are a constant voltage. At the moment I'm just looking to research. I spent some time simulating a regular design with LM317 and TIP41, TIP42 to increase current. I also have been pricing components and found that high current transformers get pricey. That lead me to look at switching supplies. Thanks.
