Dual Run Capacitor

My thru the wall a/c unit blows hot air after it runs for a while and gets hot. The compressor just stops running. Four a five hours later, it will start again when cooled down. Could the cap be what's causing this? If so, the cap's rating is 35-6/370v. Would a 35-7.5/370v unit work?

Many Thanks,

Jim

Have you checked the fan that blows to the outside? After compressing the freon to liquid, that very hot output from the compressor gets run through a heat exchanger. Ambient air is forced through the fins to remove that heat of compression, so the cooled liquid can be expanded and soak up heat from the room in the internal heat exchanger. The fan may have bad bearings.
