Dual banana plugs are common. What I'm looking for is a dual banana plug adapter with dual banana jacks, where the plugs and the jacks are not through-connected. They have four solder terminals sticking out the sides that allow you to insert components across the plugs or jacks, and/or inline between the plugs or jacks.

I can only recall Dual Binding posts which take Banana plugs and connect wire ends and ring terminals and/or solder etc?
These are common.
Max.

That looks like the functional idea. But what I used to see, looked like a regular dual banana plug, but it was a little longer, and had 4 turret solder terminals sticking out one side of the molded block, at right angles to the connector's axises. There was one for each plug and socket. Like this but two more terminals for the isolated sockets. http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=70197066
