Drum switch

    Hi, I have a single phase 110 motor that can be change to 220.
    but I have it on 110
    it has black white red yellow wires on the motor
    I open the plate and it has 135 246 forward and 136 245 backwards
    I have a square d drum switch
    How do I hook it up

    You will have to follow the diagram that came with the drum switch and when switched to either direction, power in is switched to 1-3 & 2-4 and are passed through to the motor, normally a drum switch reverses two phases of a three phase motor so you will have to find out which pair coming out of your motor is the 5-6 pair.

    Your Square D drum switch originally came with rather extensive instructions for wiring up myriad motors; one that I wired up many years ago had over 30 diagrams on it.

    You need to find the diagram that matches your motor.

    If your drum switch did not come with the instruction sheet(s), you can go to their website:

    If you cannot find the documentation for your exact Square D product, give them a call. They have engineers available to answer your questions on your Square D product, and how to use it.
