Hi,
I want to know if switched mode power supply can be used with inductive loads, i have a 24v 15A PMDC motor for which i need a power supply.
now there is this(or similar) AC-DC power supply available at below link
http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Regulated-Switching-Computer-Project/dp/B00D7CWSCG
but i am not sure if switched mode power supply can be used with dc motor.
i have searched various forums but i could not get clear answer.
please guide me if using switch mode power supply(vs Linear supply) to drive DC motor will create any problem to motor or power supply itself.
any help is appreciated.

It is often done successfully but SMPS for motor control is not my preference, the Linear supply is far more rugged and less prone to failure and in many cases the SMPS is either difficult to repair or irreparable.
Also regulation is not a requirement for a DC motor supply.

Thank you Max for your help,
i was hoping if anyone who in practical have used high amperage smps to power DC motor would want to share his experience.
