I am currently on a project on LED display. It has got some 1200 LED's to be on off on the display. I am thinking of using a simple 555 for this. The major problem is about the powering of all the LED lights. LED drivers would be very costly for about 30 watts of the power consumption calculated. can I have some good solution?

 

Buy a constant current LED power supply, you can probably find a way to control it from your 555 timer circuit.
