Hello to all,

Im new to motors and drivers, i have a task to do with single phase induction motor. can any one help me to chose driver for GF 6566 Single phase induction motor.

What's the purpose of the driver? Is this for a variable speed drive?

 

VFD's on 1ph motors are not that successful, they can drop out of run at low rpm, especially on load.
This is why they are not prevalent, most change the motor out for 3ph and use a 1ph in - 3ph out VFD.

If its just for a fan, a simple variac is often used, or a few fixed speeds by switching in differnt value inductors.

If its for like a drill press and such application where some horsepower is used, you will find that its often a motor which can easily be replaced with a size 3 phase motor that fits the screw holes and a suitable VFD for speed control.
