Can anyone explain to me the concept of a driver circuit? I understand that a driver circuit is used to control another circuit, but is there any set criteria for establishing what needs to drive a circuit, such as input resistance, output resistance? Or, is it something that you just have to have exposure to and know that this driver goes with this circuit or device? Thanks

Hello.

A driver can be used for many applications. A driver for audio amp output stage, To drive a capacitive load, an inductive load and so on. A buffer is a type of driver as well. A driver can be a single component or a circuit block of it's own. Type it in on google and you should find loads of different applications requiring a driver circuit.

Daniel.
