DPDT switches in parallel

I need to be able to reverse and turn on two motors with two different switches. Is it possible to connect two of DPDT switches + motor together in parallel or do they need to be directly connected to power to function?

If you want individual control of the the two motors you need to use two switches. If you DPDT switches that have the center off they will turn the motors off before you change directions.
