started off with a break in the wire and a week of not using the wire. OK made a few splices in the wire and plug it in, doesnt work. Take a wire out to the splice from the box and try each side of the yard (front and back) seperately and they both work. Put splice back togeather and again is gives me a broken boundary wire alarm. short loop test works fine. Wire worked about 6 months ago fine and about 1 month ago was OK. unsure whats wrong???

 

So each side of the splice connects back to the box, but not across the splice?

Sounds like your splice is not connecting. Can you take a picture of the area of the splice and post?

Ya know... if you have a good splice but TWO breaks, either side of the (good) splice will read OK.

 

How did you "splice" the wires together, in other words what did you use?
