The only true way for high fidelity is to make the entire listening room oxygen free. Just have to make sure the scuba systems don't compress the face too much as to alter the natural shape of the ear canal and sinuses.
Also, Gold's a worse conductor than copper or silver, however, it won't corrode so, after a year it might maintain a lower contact resistance than exposed copper/tin or silver.
