i need DC led light dimmer. i have to do dimmer led light which is of near about 10 watt of 10 volt.
so bit confused how to do??

 

what is good whether transistor or mosfet or fet????

 

A few posts up, " 30 μs LED pulse", both NPN & N-ch MOSFET were used to drive a 1W LED & 1 A. Both worked, I preferr the MOSFET.

 

Me too. Fast switching of power to an LED is a perfect application for a MOSFET. The only drawback is the higher gate voltage needed, compared to a BJT. But the lower base current and lower "on" resistance are big advantages for MOSFETs.

 

Now a few posts down. FET easily driven by a 555 output from one of Bill's PWM ckts.
