Digital volt meter

    I need to make a Digital Volt meter using desecrate component like gates
    without using ICL7107
    plz help i couldn't find any schematic for Digital volt meter without ICL7107:confused:

    This is not too difficult. You will need to find an analog to digital converter with the resolution you need. It will be necessary to protect the input from overvoltage. Something like the one at the link might work, although it will probably be necessary to trigger a conversion with a timer like an LM555 -

    The A to D should give an EOC signal (end of conversion). Use that to supply a clock to read out the 12 bits. Apply the serial data to a series of 74LS160 counters, so the binary count gets converted to BCD. The count goes from 0 to 4093

    The output bits of the counters will drive 4 display drivers if you wish to use 7 segment displays.

    This will be crude, but will work.
