I applied the code given by the seller and all the options are enabled but the model changed to DS1104Z.
Is it a good thing ???

But I like the part that it says 100Mhz Bandwidth !...Is this now a 100Mhz one ?

Guess the only sure way to know is to test it to its limits...

The DS1052e and 1054Z are both 50MHz scopes, but use the exact same hardware as the 100MHz models. A software hack is used to upgrade.

You say the seller gave you the code to do this? Can't be a legitimate seller then....

No legitimate seller would tell you how to hack the device.

Or maybe the seller made a mistake?

Well. He did gave me a code and I entered and it made all trials official and changed the model and bandwidth.
If it works, I really don't care.

Yep, sounds like a hack-and-crack situation to me. Be careful who you tell--Doing that sort of thing is heavily frowned upon by a lot of people.

I expect as long as you don't try to pass on the code, or instructions for how to do it, you should be fine. I would recommend asking a moderator though.

Matt
