digital firing angle using 8051

    i am asked to make a module for digital firing angle for thyristors.i intend to do so using zero-crossing detector and 8051(with lcd n keypad I/F)).plz do give me ur useful suggestions."AC input(60Hz)--->zero-detector--->8051microcontroller--->optocoupler--->thyristor"....

    how 2 proceed and write relevant codes in C for 8051.say if i enter 50(degrees) from keypad,it should appear on lcd,then corresponding delay is generated by 8051 n thyristor is fired using optocoupler.

    you will find useful information for interfacing I/Os to your controller. Then build a Zero Cross over detection using opto coupler such as 4N33. MOC3010 is useful to interface triac to MCU.

    Pls build the hardware first.

    before building hardware,i need to simulate it first on proteus and have to burn the code into 8051mc using keil.the problem is how to generate the delay for firing circuit,corresponding to the number entered from keypad.
