    Hello users,

I would like some help. I want to know the difference between PIC 16F627 and PIC 16F84A.

I only have basic knowledge about microcontrollers.

Would be hepful if someone can tell me the differences.

You have to look in the data sheet and compare the two chips. I have never used 16f627 or 16f84. But that I read that 16f628 is the recommended replace chip for the old 16f84. As I understand the code should be easy to port from 16f84 to 16f628. Only minor adjustment is needed. The code has to recompiled. The hex files are not compatible

16f627 and 628 are basically the same but the 627 has 1024 words program memory and 628 has 2048.
Anything the 84a can do the 16F62x can do but the 62x has a few advantages - more timers, comparitors, internal timer so you don't need a crystal unless you want one.
To port code you need to change the _CONFIG statement, disable comparitors, change the data memory start location, and check the banks of the special registers because I think some of them are different.
    All simple stuff.
The 16F84a is also usually more expensive.
