Does both motor are same.
I read abt shaded pole motor," Shaded-pole motors are the original type of AC single-phase induction motor."
& celing fan motor are also single phase induction motors>

a cieling fan motor is just a more complicated form of induction motor, it has more windings and leads bought out to set the speed and direction of the motor.

Many small fans are shaded pole which has one winding and a shorted copper turn on the stator that has the purpose of phase shifting the current in that part of the stator in order for the motor to act in a split phase fashion, they also occasionally have more than one winding for rpm control, larger 1ph motors use a second winding and a capacitor to cause a 90°phase shift in that winding WRT the main winding.
Both are induction motors.

a shaded pole motor with a shorting or shading pole can be reversed by removing the field and turning it over. a cieling fan like this one must use a different method.
