hi, I am installing fermax 4+n intercom. it will work with four flats. specified diameter of wire between intercom unit and flat units are 20awg or 0.5 square mm. can. it will be powered by 12v ac. length of the cable will be around 20 meters. because of small length of the cable I was thinking using the cat5 cable. what do u think?

manufacturer recommendation for wires thickness is 20 awg or 0.5 mm when total length of cables is less than 300 meters. if its 300-500 meters recommendation is 17 awg or 1.0 mm wires. by declaration in standby system uses 40 mA, in audio active 250 mA. that's info that I can give u. thanks

It will probably work, but you may have reduced volume. You could try it with the 20 meters of wire connected, but not installed to see if it works acceptably.
