Hello, I'm hoping somebody is kind enough to provide a schematic for a development board for a PIC 16F877A. I have a PICKIT 2 programmer.

All I want to do is attach a couple of LED's to the pins so I can monitor my simple program. It's important a PICKIT 2 is used with the board for the actual programming.

It should have everything you need.

Other demo boards from uCHIP will have various peripheral features, CAN etc.

You need to add header pins for programming with PICKIT2

 

Try Olimex from the UK.
You can customize it as needed, they come with programming pins and also a RS232 socket that can be jumpered in as needed, I also replaced the IC socket with a Zif socket.
What I also did was fit ribbon headers from all pins to either plug in a ribbon connected board or use the single wire jumpers avail on ebay 40 at a time, to bread board connection.
