Guys, I apologize. I've been stupid (again). Turns out the oscope in question is a Fluke (number unknown) and it is a 50Mhz scope. So that is what I will design for.

Sheesh, talk about over complicating a problem!

The displays on those ScopeMeters are painful to look at.

You'll need more bandwidth to measure spikes that are killing stuff.

 

Sorry I lost track (again). Change of tactic, any good avalanche transisor oscillator schematics out there? I misplaced my Forrest Mimms book, I'm going to try for a 3hz oscillator and see how close it is.
