detect ultrasonic waves

    i am a doing an ultrasonic range finder project i will complete the ultrasonic transmitter part this week is there any practical method to detect if the circuit is working (i.e transmitting the ultrasonic waves) without building the receiver section

    Hi,

    See if the noise annoys your pet bat. Or else get a microphone that works up in the region and look at its output with an oscilloscope.

    how do i convert the ultrasonic waves of the transmitter so that i can see the waves in the oscilloscope

    Hi,

    An ultrasonic microphone converts the mechanical sound waves into electrical waves. This will be a low level signal, so some amplification might be necessary for the o'scope to give a decent display.
