Hi guys,

I just found this site and so far like what I see. I need help identifying a capacitor. I repair and refurbish telephones for a living, and I've just ran into one that I don't know what it is.

Here's what the number's printed on it are:

681
10
100E

Now, the "681" part is smaller, so I went and tried a 10v@100μF and I get no life out of this. Any ideas what kind of cap this is? It's found in the newer Cisco phones

I've got another one that reads:

651
10
100E

I'm imagining the first is just a burn number....can anyone please help!?

Do you have a photo of it?

What are the approximate dimensions?

Is it surface mount?

If not surface mount and electrolytic, I'd guess 10uF/100V

Yes it is surface mount. Unfortunately I don't have my nice camera here with me today, so I can't get a clear picture. It looks like the standard surface mount caps : all silver, black to mark the neg side. I'll take a look at those links supplied, thanks guys....I'm still hunting.

681= 680 pf
651=650pf
10 would be the percent tolerance
100e the temperature characteristics
this is just my guess...........good luck
