Is demultiplexer different from a decoder?

A demultiplexer can be used as a decoder.

With a decoder, the presence of a binary number on the input address lines results in one of the output lines being different from the other output lines, either H or L.

A demultiplexer performs a similar function, except that there are one or more gate inputs that can set the selected output line H or L.
