DC LED ammeter, do they read amp flow either direction?

    For example this with a 100 amp shunt.

    Will the amp reading just appear regardless of flow direction? Without a pos or neg indication?
    I was thinking if I used this on the boat in the house circuit positive line, I could fuse the sense lines running to the meter so then would not have to put the shunt in the negative ground line back to the battery? they say negative line likely due to shorting issues as if the little wire running up to the meter grounded out.

    I think there was a post on these a while back, why not email the seller and see if you can inform you?

    I thought about that, but they may not know much. I know shunt can go in the positive line, that is just a safety issue.
