My friend and I are currently working on a automotive project. We are completely stripping down a car in order to rebuild the frame and mount jet engines on it. We have reached a problem with the electricity. The car has no reverse with a jet engine, so we decide that connecting a motor to the differential should work. We still need power for the ignition system and charging the battery. Is there a way to use the motor as a generator as well and if so how? Would it be better to use the motor exclusively as a motor and charge the car at home?
