i am designing a Photovolatic stand alone system of 2 KW.
for that i need a dc-dc converter..
so what are the different dc-dc converters and which all can be used for a 2 KW application.
please help........

 

What is your load? Are you charging a battery bank or going directly to AC?

 

The load may be linear or non- linear. i am not sure about the wattage of the load. and yes we will be charging a battery but that battery will be connected on the inverter side.

 

Let's start over. You want to convert the DC from a 2kW PV system to some other DC.

You'll need to specify the max voltage of the DC input from your panel, and it would also be useful to know the I•V curve of the panel; how voltage changes with current. This knowledge helps define the specifications of the converter you need.

Then you need to specify the output. Do you need a constant voltage? Are you making DC for charging a battery bank, or some other purpose like driving an inverter to make steady AC?

This is the minimal information an expert here will need to help you choose a converter. I'm sure there are more things they will ask also, such as your budget and skill level if you plan to build something.
